Info:
Lokalt Piano is Morten Qvenild's second solo album – an album that has been created, inspired by and recorded in the artist's home and local environment in Nesodden over a long period of time. The album was recorded and composed in the green recording studio in his garden in Nesodden with the evocative name Ugla Lyd. After spending the last twenty-five years taming his wanderlust, and touring from Kongsberg to Japan and back again for the umpteenth time, Qvenild this time felt like making an album that focused entirely on the local, his own neighbourhood, family and nearby nature.
Morten Qvenild (1978) has been one of the most creative and groundbreaking musicians in European "jazz" and other related musical movements for the past 25 years.
His first solo album PERSONAL PIANO was nominated for the Spellemannprisen in 2016 and now the sequel LOKALT PIANO will be released in 2026. He has participated in several bands and on around 150 albums, including A-ha, In the Country, The National Bank, Solveig Slettahjell Slomo Quintet, Susanne Sundfør, Arve Henriksen, Thomas Dybdahl, Martin Hagfors, Ingrid Olava, The Budding Rose, Marit Larsen, Nils Petter Molvær, Shining, Jaga Jazzist, Benedicte Maurset and Susanna and the Magical Orchestra.
